Community Impact

100% of grants give immediate help
in the qathet region

All Community Foundation grants are distributed each year to support and enrich all of the area within the qathet Regional District – activating essential programs and services that would otherwise not be available. We support a community-based approach and accountability measures to distribute funding and maximize impact. By engaging all sectors and causes in our region, we are uniquely positioned to identify opportunities and support emerging needs.

Being a member of the Community Foundations of Canada, we have been able to access many Federal and Provincial Grant Programs. These include:

2020 Community Response Fund – a Federal Government fund created to respond to the COVID pandemic. $184,000 was allocated to charities in the qathet region.

2023 Community Services Recovery Fund – a Federal Government Fund to assist charities to recover from the pandemic and improve their ability to respond to future challenges. $164,000 was distributed in the qathet region.

PRCF Grant Recipients

As the charity dedicated to supporting other charities, PRCF works in partnership with donors to fund programs, services, and projects for the more than 50 registered charities in the Powell River Area. We are only limited by the will and imagination of our donors, and the groups and people we support in the community.

Our view of community is broad and inclusive – and we provide grants to the widest possible range of organizations and initiatives to reflect that perspective. Since 2001, we have returned more than $500,000 to the community in the form of grants.

New to us this year (2024) we can now offer from 4 to 8 Scholarships to our local students yearly.
